Practicing the Fine Art of Dentistry
I graduated from the University of Maryland Dental School in Baltimore over 35 years ago. Then my wife and I returned to the D.C. area, where we grew up, to start a family and establish a dental practice. I’ve been treating patients here ever since. As a general practitioner, I see patients age 2-99 and provide a full-range of dental services — that includes hygiene, orthodontics and Invisalign, cosmetic procedures, crowns, root canals, implants, and gum surgery. I treat each of my patients as an individual and aim to provide dental care that promotes long-term health while making the patient experience as pleasant and anxiety-free as possible.
Because dental skill is developed through years of practice as well as a willingness to continue learning, I remain committed to continuing my education and staying current on recent research. Happily, the last 25 years have brought great progress in our ability to repair damaged teeth. But, education and experience have shown me that the best method for achieving dental health is prevention. Growing evidence supporting the connection between oral health and other health issues means preventing dental disease is imperative to staying healthy. My understanding of the value of prevention greatly informs the way I practice dentistry. My examinations, consultations, and services all stress a preventive approach.
I make every effort to provide my patients thorough information about their dental health and treatment. However, there will be times I haven’t anticipated all your questions, or you may find you need additional information after you leave the office. I want my patients to feel comfortable and be well informed, so ask the questions I haven’t answered or call the office to follow up. You should also check out The Academy of General Dentistry's authoritative online patient resource designed to meet the needs of people who have questions and concerns about their oral health and dental care. Let me know what you discover. I’ll do my best to clarify anything that's still confusing and provide answers you still haven’t found. Be sure to check out my blog as well -- I try to answer a lot of common dental questions and explain the newest findings in dental research. I look forward to chatting with you!
