Message From the Doctor

Over 35 years ago, after I graduated from University of MD Dental School in Baltimore, my wife and I decided to return to the DC area, where we grew up, to start a family and establish a dental practice. I've been treating patients from age 2-99 ever since. As a general practitioner, I provide a full-range of dental services, including hygiene services, orthodontics and Invisalign, cosmetic procedures, crowns, root canals, implants, and gum surgery. I approach my work by treating every patient I see as an individual.  That approach allows me to provide dental care that promotes long-term health while making the patient experience as pleasant and anxiety-free as possible.

Dental skill is developed through years of practice and a willingness to continue learning; in my years of working with patients, I've remained committed to continuing my education and staying current on the most recent research.  The last 25 years have brought great progress in our ability to repair damaged teeth, but education and experience have demonstrated to me that the best method for achieving dental health is prevention.  Growing evidence of the connection between the health of the mouth and the rest of the body heightens the importance of preventing dental disease to maintain good overall health.  I enjoy studying the latest preventive techniques and sharing that knowledge with my patients. My understanding of the value of prevention greatly informs the way I practice dentistry. My examinations, consultations, and services all stress a preventive approach.

I make every effort to provide my patients thorough information about their dental treatment. However, I realize I cannot anticipate all of your concerns or you may find you need additional information after you leave the office. So, ask the questions I haven’t answered. I want my patients to feel comfortable and be well-informed.  For further information, The Academy of General Dentistry provides an authoritative online resource with trustworthy information for people who want to know more about their oral health and dental care. Let me know what you discover--I’ll do my best to clarify anything that is still confusing and provide answers you still haven’t found. And, call the office anytime; I’m here to help.
