Message from the Doctor

Over 35 years ago, I graduated from University of MD Dental School in Baltimore, and my wife and I decided to return to the DC area, where we grew up, to start a family and establish a dental practice.  As a general practitioner, I treat patients ages 2-99, providing a full-range of dental services; that includes hygiene services; orthodontics and Invisalign; crowns; gum surgery; root canals; implants; and cosmetic procedures.  I treat each patient I see as an individual, providing dental care that promotes long-term health while making the patient experience as pleasant and anxiety-free as possible.

Dental skill requires years of practice along with a willingness to continue learning. In my years of working with patients, I've remained committed to continuing my education and staying current on the most recent research.  The last 25 years have brought great progress in our ability to repair damaged teeth, but education and experience have demonstrated to me that the best method for achieving dental health is prevention.  Growing evidence of the connection between the health of the mouth and the rest of the body reinforces the value of preventing dental disease in maintaining good overall health.  My belief in the value of prevention greatly informs the way I practice dentistry. My examinations, consultations, and services all stress a preventive approach; I enjoy studying the latest preventive techniques and sharing that knowledge with my patients.

I make every effort to provide my patients thorough information about their dental treatment. However, I realize I cannot anticipate all of your concerns; so, ask questions during your appointment--I want my patients to feel comfortable and be well-informed.  If you have questions after you leave, The Academy of General Dentistry has an excellent online resource designed to provide information for patients about their dental care. My educational website, The Healthy Mouth, is another resource for you.  Let me know what you discover--I’ll do my best to clarify anything that is still confusing and provide answers you still haven’t found, and call the office with follow-up questions; I’m here to help.
